The Box

The evolution of our outer box has been an amazing journey that has taken many weeks.  Little did we know when starting this project what a variety of sizes, materials and just general "box stuff" exists.  I think Simon has been dreaming of boxes since it began!

The main aim for us has been to firstly get the right size than can fit through 95% of letterboxes, that can fit a 250g bag of coffee with some room to spare, and keeps the costs down by fitting into the complex Royal Mail system (that's a whole other blog post!).   It needs to be weatherproof, protected from being dropped, and look the part - something you're excited about receiving.

Our first drawing mockup (actually this was v4.3 but who is counting!):
Gradually getting more refined to appear on the site:
leading to an actual prototype (imminent!)...

We know the box will evolve every month based on our learnings and feedback from you as our subscribers.  Who said packaging was easy???!

We're Here!

We've finally arrived and come out of hiding and months of planning and we're pretty excited.  In as few words as possible.  Our aim is to make gourmet coffee more accessible to the everyday person, in a convenient and fun way. Too long we've put up with standard coffee from the supermarkets and only danced around the more premium versions, which don't have to cost the earth or be exclusive.

Kopi.co.uk offers a gourmet coffee subscription every month, delivered through your door.

Let me explain...   "gourmet" refers to high quality beans with an amazing aroma and distinct unique tastes and flavours, sourced from Single Estates around the world (a distinct crop from one distinct place).  "subscription" is a flexible way to receive that month's coffee on a regular basis, while "delivered through your door" is about us making it as convienient as possible for you to receive each box of coffee right through the letterbox and not have to sign for it.

We've created this blog to enable us to talk about life behind the scenes of the business and what it's like to create something like this from scratch; our ups and downs; questions and challenges; features and announcements.

Thanks for coming along for the ride and let's see where this rabbit hole leads...
